It’s time to put the Historic St. Jacobs walking

It’s time to put the Historic St. Jacobs walking tour sign away for the winter!

The good people at Block Three Brewing @blockthree let me store my sign in their outdoor storage container during walking tour season. Now it’s time to bring it home. It’s easy to take apart with four bolts on the bottom that separate the base from the vertical sign. I empty the water in the base and put in the basement.

It’s true, joy is who you share it with 🤩 and we’ve had more joy than imagined on the 9 Food Tours we hosted in 2024!

Led by Stephanie Soulis @cateringfungi , we’ve welcomed over 100 guests on public and private food tours in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and the University District 😥 What a ride!

Our theme has been “food to satisfy your taste buds, morning, noon or night!” which gave us a pretty wide range to introduce you to restaurants, cafes and several food entrepreneurs and gourmet shops, even a take out joint operated by a church! ⛪️

Guaranteed every guest found places they had never been to before but wanted to try, places they didn’t know existed and met chefs & owners who deepened their respect for the hard work of running a food business! 👏

🤩 What a FUN time we had connecting over 275 people to the businesses of Downtown Kitchener BIA this year!

From April - November, Stroll hosted 11 custom walking tours for the Downtown Kitchener BIA, featuring different businesses on themed 90 minute walking tours of DTK. These walking tours were all about connection – connecting people to the businesses and people who run them and encouraging people to explore their own downtown for their daily needs, but also for entertaining, getting together with a friend or a colleague, hosting guest from out of town, or picking up treats for a special occasion.

Sometime we don’t even know what’s in our own backyard, or downtown, and it’s good to explore it with a traveler’s eye and an open mind.

When was the last time you explored the downtown where you live to discover new places and meet the people who help to create a vibrant and diverse downtown community?
