We’re ready to Stroll again!

After a six month hiatus without our guided, hyperlocal walking tours to keep you active and outdoors in Waterloo Region, I’m ready to host our Strolls with you again!

In accordance with the phased re-opening of businesses in Ontario, ‘Tour and Guides Services’ are now permitted to resume. Book your Stroll beginning July 3, 2021.

What you need to know about booking your 2021 Stroll

Our walking tours are still outdoors!

  • All our guided walking tours are entirely outdoors – we don’t enter any buildings. Outdoors is one of the safest places to connect with family, friends and coworkers!

Small, private group walking tours of 4 – 10 people

  • For the 2021 season, as in 2020, our groups are small and cozy due to COVID-19 and restrictions on gatherings. For your safety and ours, we don’t put unknown groups of people together – you gather your group of family/friends/co-workers for a physically distanced walk and we’ll Stroll together!
  • We schedule your selected Stroll based on your availability and the guide’s availability. See all the walks here.
  • We hope to have a publicly available schedule of walks in 2022

Our guides use a voice amplifier

  • This allows the guides to keep a safe physical distance from the group, but still be heard by all participants, without having to project loudly.

Active screening prior to your walk

  • We use the web app CanaTrace to screen everyone prior to the walk. Through a unique QR code with your smartphone, answer three questions before proceeding. The information is used only for contact tracing purposes if there is an exposure risk in the group after the event. All information is deleted after 30 days.
  • This is a provincial requirement in order for Stroll to operate so it’s a non-negotiable, I’m afraid.

Contactless payment and waiver signing

  • All Stroll payments are made by etransfer in advance of your walk. Our waiver is signed online – we handle all the nitty gritty details contact-free!

Masks are still encouraged

  • Even though we are outdoors, there may be times when we can’t maintain a 2m physical distance (narrow neighbourhood sidewalks, stopping in an alcove, busy downtown streets, etc). We encourage people to wear a mask at these times.
  • It’s difficult for the guides to wear a mask because lip-reading is helpful to some participants in an urban environment where there is a lot of ambient noice and competition to be heard.
