Our Historic Galt walking tour in Downtown Cambridge tells the story of the town’s rise from a small farm community in Dumfries Township called Shade’s Mills to an industrial powerhouse that would be nicknamed the “Manchester of Canada.“

We’ll walk the streets and riverbanks to learn the history of settlement, learn about the history of the land, the first businesses built here and see the stone buildings that remain throughout the downtown core.

On this walking tour you will meet William Dixon and Absolom Shade, two of the earliest settlers who established and built the community, quite literally! Hear about their humble beginnings and the incredible wealth they would accumulate building the city that would be a large part of their legacy.

I love the fact that people signed up for a Secret Art Walk at Palette x Palate in @dtkitchener not even knowing what art they would see!! 💕 But they knew it would be top notch quality from local artists 🖼️
We toured ‘Art on the Edge’, coordinated by James Nye @james.nye.18 with 20 keen locals & out-of-town-ers when we met each artist so they could talk about the inspiration for their installation & answer our fun ‘lightening round’ questions.
We learned some beautiful things about how much we all love art. The artists appreciated all the love, cheering & applause! Seriously, they felt so loved 💕🥰

You can find all these installations along King Street, Ontario Street and Water Street, Downtown Kitchener.

Today I had the pleasure of co-hosting a walking tour with Kitchener artist & arts organizer, James Nye! @james.nye.18
“Art on the Edge” is a new collection of panels created by 13 different artists, installed on patios around the downtown. It was organized & curated by James & we hosted a @dtkitchener walking tour on behalf of the BIA during the bumpin’ Palette x Palate festival on Saturday afternoon.

It’s fun to change things up from time to time and work with different people! Thanks for being a great co-host James!
